David Hage headshotDavid Hage earned a BSW degree from Misericordia University, an MSW from Marywood University, and is at the dissertation phase of a Ph.D. in Leadership & Gerontology at Concordia University Chicago. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (C-ASWCM), Certified Remotivation Therapist-Level III (Instructor), and Certified Advanced Aging Life Care Professional™ (previously called Certified Geriatric Care Manager). On a full-time basis, David Hage is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and the Director of Field Education at Misericordia University. Within the social work program, David teaches Social Welfare Policy, Theory & Practice, and Junior/Senior level field seminars, while supervising concurrent field practicums.  David has taught or currently also adjunctly teaches in the Gerontology, Geriatric Care Management, Patient Navigator, Psychology, and Sociology programs as well. In addition to counseling and consulting, David’s other direct practice experience includes work with economically disadvantaged children and families in low-income housing, a maternity home for homeless pregnant women, a rural community action agency, acute care hospital inpatient rehabilitation, and sub-acute care environments with a primarily adult through geriatric population. David is a board member and trainer for the Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Taskforce for NEPA, a regional task force committed to advanced care planning and honoring patient wishes at end-of-life. He also serves as a member of the biomedical ethics and palliative care committees at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, where he also has privileges to provide clinical social work services to patients admitted to the hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation unit.
